Day 1 -
Arrival in Montréal

Arrive in Montréal where you will collect your Hertz hire car. Drive to your Montréal accommodation and check-in. Your exclusive documentation package will be waiting at the Front Desk. The remainder of the day is free to explore Montréal at your leisure.

Day 2 -
Montréal to Saint-Alexis-des-Monts (87 miles / 140 km)
|
Spend more time exploring Montréal before heading to Saint-Alexisdes-des-Monts, located in the heart of Quebec, and bordering Mastigouche Wildlife Reserve. Rest of the day at leisure to relax at beautiful Sacacomie Lodge or take part in one of the many outdoor activities that the Lodge offers, i.e. Hiking, Mountain biking, Swimming, Canoeing, Kayaking, Fishing, Rabaska Rafting, Motor Boat Rentals, Pedal Boat Rentals, and ATV tours. Please note that many activities require reservations and will be at a cost – Please inquire at the front desk when checking in.

Day at Leisure

This day is free to enjoy the many outdoor activities that the lodge has to offer, or you can simply relax.

Day 4 -
Saint-Alexis-des-Monts to Lac Saint Jean (205 miles / 330 km)
|
This will be your longest day of travelling, but your destination makes it worthwhile. Around Lac St-Jean, a huge freshwater lake left from the Ice Age, lies an area offering many cultural, outdoor and sports activities. Don’t forget to visit the Historic Village of Val-Jalbert!

Day 5 -
Visit of the Wild Zoo of Saint-Félicien and travel to Tadoussac (174 miles / 280 km)

This morning, you will have the opportunity to visit the famous Zoo of Saint Félicien (admission included). In the afternoon depart for Tadoussac, located along the shores of the St-Lawrence River. Tadoussac is very popular for its whale watching opportunities. Take time to explore one of the province’s most scenic areas, Charelvoix, the beauty of which has inspired generations of artists.

Day 6 -
Whale watching and travel to Quebec (137 miles / 220 km)

This morning, you are booked on a whale watching tour. In Tadoussac, at the mouth of the Saguenay Fjord, you will board the vessel where an experienced naturalist will explain the habits of the Finback, Minke and Beluga whales that frequent this region during the summer. In the afternoon continue along the St-Lawrence River towards Quebec City – the historical and political capital of the Belle Province. After settling into your accommodation, relax in one of the many cafés and stroll through the cobblestone streets of Quebec City.

Day 7 -
Explore Quebec City
|

Quebec City is the heart of French Canada. Nowhere else in North America is the appearance and atmosphere of an old-world city so complete. Quebec City looks and feels very European; perhaps that is why the entire old section of the town was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985. Today is free to discover the charm of the City at your leisure.

Day 8 -
Quebec City to Montréal (155 miles / 250 km)
|
|
Head back to Montréal, passing many historical sites, such as Fort Chambly (where you may make a stop). Overnight in Montréal.

Day 9 -
Montréal
|
|
Check out of your accommodation and return your car at Montréal Airport before your return flight home.
